First Russian firefighting robots to be deployed at fuel and energy facilities
High Precision Systems Holding (part of Rostec) has begun serial deliveries of ANT-1000PM robotic firefighting units. The first batch of the equipment will be supplied to one of Russia’s major fuel companies, the state corporation’s press service reported.
The machine is based on the serial ANT compact loader manufactured by KEMZ. It is fully equipped with Russian-made components, including the platform and control system.
A key feature of the system is remote operation. A monitor fitted with a water-foam ejector nozzle can deliver extinguishing agent over a distance of up to 60 meters and to a height of up to 35 meters above ground level. The operator controls the machine from a safe distance of up to one kilometer using the Prometey hardware and software system, which is equipped with external video cameras and sensors.
Alexander Dernovoy, Deputy General Director of High Precision Systems for civilian product promotion and production control, explained that the main objective of the development is to minimize the risk of injury to firefighting crews while improving firefighting efficiency.
Vladimir Pimenov, General Director of the Signal All-Russian Research Institute, added that extensive testing had confirmed the reliability and effectiveness of the ANT-1000PM under difficult conditions associated with industrial accidents. The unit also passed certification testing at an accredited laboratory of the All-Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
As previously reported, the ANT-1000PM will be presented at the equipment and technology exhibition for the fuel and energy sector held as part of Russian Energy Week on October 14–16.
