During the fire, steps were taken to suspend work and redistribute gas flows. At 4:05 p.m., the fire was extinguished, and at 4:50 p.m., the production facilities were put back into operation, the report said.

No one was killed in the incident. The incident did not affect the performance of gas production targets. The fire commission will determine the cause of the fire.

The Urengoy oil and gas condensate field (Bolshoy Urengoy) was discovered in 1966. In terms of reserves, it is classified as supergiant – up to 10 trillion cubic meters. m. of gas. It is the third largest deposit in the world. There is more gas only in the waters of Qatar and Iran (Northern / South Pars – 28 trillion cubic meters) and in Turkmenistan (Galkynysh – more than 21 trillion cubic meters).
