Gas production in Russia increased by 14% in February

February gas production rose, with domestic demand and the effect of last year's low base contributing to the growth in blue fuel production.

In February this year, Russian gas production increased by 13.8% to 64.5 billion cubic meters. In the first two months, the country's extraction of blue fuel increased by 10% to 131.5 billion cubic meters, according to the Kommersant newspaper.

This year's growth is mainly provided by Gazprom, which in February increased its figures by 20% year-on-year to 44 billion cubic meters. NOVATEK in February increased production by 2.5% year-on-year to 6.5 billion cubic meters, and for 2 months by 4% to 13.7 billion cubic meters.

Rosneft's February figures are 2.8% growth, while LUKOIL's increase is 3%. At the same time, Surgutneftegaz reduced production by 19%.

Experts explain the increase in the production of blue fuel in Russia by the growing domestic demand and the effect of the low base of last year.
