Previously Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Belarus Paulo Fernando Dias Feres mentioned prospects of involving Belarusian companies in the development of new oil deposits and oil extraction in Brazil. Brazil has sufficient oil reserves. Studies are in progress to evaluate new deposits of oil and natural gas. Their development is of current interest. “Belarus has experience and knowledge about oil extraction on dry land. Before coming to Minsk I talked to Mr [Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Aleksandr] Tserkovsky and he mentioned such a possibility. It turns out the director of Brazil's second largest oil extraction company is my friend. I've arranged a meeting of representatives of the embassy and this company,” the ambassador said. At present potash fertilizers represent the foundation of Belarus' export to Brazil. In return, Belarus imports Embraer jets and agricultural products.
